	Уж сколько дней сбираюсь я написать тебе, голубушка Саша, — но с петербургской суматохой; с суетой переезда на кв[артиру] решительно не мог найти ни минуты. Спешу сказать тебе несколько слов о ''Тасе''. Я видел её три раза. Она очень бодро и твёрдо перенесла своё детское горе и теперь производит самое благоприятное впечатление. Вчера я был у Норовых вместе с Тасей; она казалась очень счастлива отпуском, очень довольна находиться у Ольги Никол[аевны] и выражала неохоту отправляться сегодня к Корибут. Ольга Никол[аевна] ''удивительно мила с Тасей'' и на деле оказывается таким же хорошим и преданным тебе другом, как и на словах. Папочку я нашёл здоровы и весёлым, но до того слабым и состарившимся, что становится страшно за будущее. Но что делать! Это в порядке вещей.

Толино дело оказалось мыльным пузырём. В сущности, это был большой вздор, сильно раздутый Толей; но ты и Коля немножко виноваты. Вы раздували пламень, когда нужно было тушить. Как бы то ни было, но Толино самолюбие совершенно удовлетворено. Плеве официально заявил, что считает Толю не только полезным, но необходимым для службы.
