Пётр Иванович! Я буду в Москве в будущую пятницу, — ровно через неделю.

Душа моя! Устрой мне, ради Бога, одно денежное дело. Теперь не подлежит сомнению (почти), что опера пойдёт. Между тем мне страшно, неимоверно нужны деньги в размере 1000 рублей серебр[ом]. Не думай, что хочу занимать у тебя. Мне хотелось бы занять в Музык[альном] обществе 1000 р[ублей], которые были бы обеспечены поспектакльной платой за оперу. Если же этого недостаточно, — то вот что. Ведь мне ежегодно выдают 300 р[ублей]. Я бы отказался в течение 4-х лет (надеюсь ещё 4 года прожить) от этого вознаграждения, если бы мне выдали теперь 1000. Я страшно, невыразимо устал.

Так называемый ''мой'' концерт испортил мне много крови. Впрочем был довольно удачен. Не знаю, хватило ли на стипендию.
