Относительно Ант[онины] Ив[ановны] скажу тебе, что для меня весьма желательна, чтобы она получила казённое место, и я очень радуюсь, что у неё есть протекция. Разумеется, для меня приятнее было бы, если б она получила место в провинции; в этом случае Москва опять бы сделалась для меня родным городам, и весьма возможно, что я бы основался в ней на постоянное жительство. Но, слава Богу, если она (т. е. женщ[ина], носящ[ая] моё имя) получит места и в Москве. Чем более она будет занята, тем менее она будет обо мне думать и приставать. Итак, попроси ''Мессера'', чтобы он с своей стороны всячески хлопотал об её устройстве. Это будет для меня большая услуга.

Относительно Бесселя прошу тебя поступать как тебе угодно и даю тебе полное полномочие действовать смотря по обстоятельствам. Касательно «''Ромео''» не позабудь, что Бессель, по его словам, имеет какой-то ''документ''. Если действительно я дал ему какое-нибудь письменное удостоверение его права на сию вещь, — то ведь ничего нельзя сделать!
