Thank you for the metronome. I have the "''[[Italian Capriccio]]''" (instead of fantasia) ready in the form of the full score and arrangement, but both will need to be reviewed and played through. The proofs of the 1st act are also ready, but after correcting the 2nd act I want to play them both through again. Thus, in all likelihood, in three days I'll be sending you everything at once, i.e. the "Capriccio" in both its forms, and the proofs of both acts. The countless mistakes are not the fault of the engravers, but the very same Mr [[Messer]], who did not trouble himself, despite my earnest requests, to add the corresponding markings from the full score, and now he's overlooked many of the mistakes that were probably already in his lousy manuscript. What a curious fellow. There are whole staves ''without text'', which he never noticed, but in one place a single ''syllable'' is missing, which he's flourished with a cross in blue pencil and written "Text fehlt" in enormous letters in the margin. And this sort of thing isn't uncommon!
If you are writing {{und2|Chorus of Ladies}} in Russian — without the preceding adjectives: ''maids, servants, serfs'', etc., then everyone will understand this to mean a whore.
Thus, you are defeated.

''Write to me, golubchik, when I can expect to receive the 3rd act''.
