Милый друг! Получил письмо твоё со вложением контракта Бесселя. Повторяю то, что сказал в предыдущем письме: я лично отказываюсь от всяких дел с Бесселем и даже отрицаю самое существование его. Ты же, вооружённый моей доверенностью (если прежней недостаточно, можно написать другую), делай все, что при знаешь нужным. Ввиду всего совершающегося я не знаю, делать мне корректуру партитуры симфонии (вчера я получил продолжение 1-й части) или же, раз навсегда покончивши с Бесселем, даже не вмешиваться в исправление опечаток? На всякий случай я всё-таки ошибки исправлю и пришлю тебе, а ты, если найдёшь нужным, пошлёшь или оставишь у себя до разрешения дела. Мне противно пересылать ему от себя. Представь, что этот нахал даже не отвечал на очень учтивое моё письмо.

Получил корректуру концерта. Примусь за неё, но по правде сказать, я ожидал партитуры ''каприччио'', а не концерта. Ведь для последнего главное, чтобы голоса были скорее готовы, а для каприччио нужно и то и другое. Отчего ты не предпочёл заняться сначала партитурой ''каприччио''?

Есть ли надежда, что цензура отменит своё ''veto'' на архиепископа?

Начинаю сильно ощущать всю недостаточность переписки и всю необходимость личного с тобой свидания. В самом начале ноября буду.
