			I know that [[Modya]] sent you a long letter today, and so I shall not write about the tragic events that have happened here.

			The fire in ''[[Klin]]'' made a most distressing impression on me. I shall look forward to seeing you, my golubchik, at the beginning of August. May God grant that the end of the summer will be more successful for you, and that you will always be well and in cheerful spirits.

Саша прислала мне сегодня письмо, которое я адресовал тебе и положил по непростительной рассеянности в другой конверт.

Знаю, что сегодня Модя отправил к тебе большое письмо, и потому не буду отписывать трагических происшествий, случившихся здесь.

Пожар ''Клин'' а сделал на меня удручающее впечатление. Буду с нетерпением ожидать тебя, мой голубчик, в начале августа. Дай Бог, чтобы конец лета был для тебя удачнее и чтобы ты у меня был все время здоров и бодр духом.

Целую тысячу раз.
