Во избежание всяких недоразумений, я спешу сообщить тебе следующее.

1) Я буду делать ''третью корректуру'' оперы, и буду её делать очень долго и обстоятельно.

2) В Дирекцию мы имеем возможность представить только, не вполне прокорректированные оттиски; однако ж первые три действия попадут в театр после двух корректур Баталиной, и этого достаточно; четвёртому придётся идти после одной корректуры—нечего делать!

3) Во всяком случае, мне теперь никаких корректур посылать не нужно; я слишком утомлён, чтобы быть внимательным, и все равно ничему теперь помочь не могу, т. е. не могу сделать так, чтобы руку дать на отсечение, что ошибок не будет. Пусть теперь и ошибки будут; это не так важно.

Жаль, что хоровые голоса 4-го действия (их очень немного) не могут прямо сделать с подлинника. Умоляю тебя всячески торопить и заранее распорядиться, как устроить, чтобы каждую роль подобрали и чтобы, одним словом, представить в театр все, что нужно.
