Милый Анатоша! Получил сегодня твой ответ на мою просьбу об деньгах. Очень обрадовался в первую минуту, но потом, вдруг мне стало стыдно и неловко. Во всяком случае я не в состоянии пойти к ''Влад[имиру] Дм[итриевичу]'' и говорить о деньгах. Дождусь Вашего приезда. Я было уж написал письмо ''Влад[имиру] Дм[итриевичу]'', но потом разорвал. Будь что будет! А пока ''Юргенсон'' хлопочет о моем деле вместе с одним специалистом и стараются заставить Новикову уступить. Дело в полном ходу, а у меня денег ни копейки. Забавно!

Репетиции оперы начнутся 26-го числа этого месяца, а 1-е представление состоится не раньше конца октября. Я еду на будущей неделе. Теперь очень занят некоторыми переделками в «''Чародейке''». У меня гостит Ларош, и полдня я посвящаю его статье.
