	I've spent 10 days here without having written a single letter, because there's been no opportunity whatsoever. I'm writing a diary and afterwards I'll be able to relate everything that's happened to me during this time, but I cannot describe. I was received here as some sort of representative for the whole of Russia. My reception the day I arrived was grandiose. Since then my whole stay has been an endless succession of all manner of festivities, celebrations, sight-seeing tours, serenades, rehearsals, concerts, etc. I found that many of the ''Czechs'' can speak Russian. Yesterday from morning to evening I was entertained, transported, caressed and spoiled in every possible way. My concerts (there were two of them) had colossal success. Yesterday's concert was at the theatre, and at the end there was an excellent staging of the 2nd act of "''[[Swan Lake]]''". Not only did I turn out to be an orator, delivering many replies in [[Prague]] to speeches at all the celebrations given in my honour, but I even read out a long speech ''in Czech'' at a grand banquet in my honour, to the considerable joy of those present. All of this can't be recounted in a short letter. I'm exhausted far beyond anything imaginable, and I don't understand where I've mustered the strength to endure all this. Today I'm going to [[Paris]]. [[Ziloti]] was with me here the whole time, and [[P. I. Jurgenson]] came for 2 days before the 1st concert. Both of them have now left. And now I've sat down to do letters, of which I need to write so many that a brief page will have to suffice for all of them. ''I'm dreaming'' that I'll see you in the not-too-distant future. Lord, when will things start to quieten down?!! However, I must admit that I've experienced many wonderful moments in [[Prague]]. Я провёл здесь 10 дней и не написал ни единого письма, ибо никакой возможности не было. Я пишу дневник и впоследствии могу подробно рассказать все, что со мной случилось за это время, но описать не могу. Меня встречали здесь как какого-то представителя всей России. Встреча моя в день приезда была грандиозная. С тех пор все моё пребывание было бесконечной вереницей всяких празднеств, торжеств, осмотров достопримечательностей, серенад, репетиций, концертов и т. д. Я нашёл много ''чехов'', говорящих по-русски. Меня с утра до вчера угощали, возили, всячески ласкали и баловали. Самые концерты (их было два) имели колоссальный успех. Вчерашний концерт был в театре, и по окончании его давался превосходно поставленный 2-ой акт «''Лебединого озера''». Я оказался не только оратором, сказавшим в Праге множество ответных речей на всех праздниках, дававшихся в мою честь, но даже на большом банкете прочёл длинную речь ''по-чешски'', к великой радости присутствовавших. Всего не перескажешь в коротеньком письмеце. Усталость моя превосходит всякое вероятие, и я не понимаю, откуда у меня берутся силы выдерживать все это. Сегодня еду в Париж. Все время со мной здесь был Зилоти, а за 2 дня до 1-го концерта приехал П. И. Юргенсон. Оба они сейчас уехали. А я сел за письма, которых мне нужно написать так много, что для каждого хватит маленького листочка. ''Я мечтаю'', что в неотдалённом будущем увижу вас. Господи, когда же настанет спокойствие?!! Однако я должен признаться, что в Праге испытал много чудных минут.
