Модя! Я в Петербург ''не еду''. Приезжай с Колей; жду с нетерпением. Дай знать о выезде депешей.

P. S. Письмо хотел отправить вчера, но шёл такой ужасный дождь, что я пожалел Алексея. Прибавлю к сему письмецу следующее.

1) Потрудись, если поспеешь, сдать театральные старинные партитуры в нотную контору ''Николаю Осиповичу Христофорову''.

2) Бобу скажи, что, ввиду моей поездки в Каменку, я должен лишить себя теперь удовольствия видеться с ним в Петербурге. Благоразумие требует, чтобы я сидел безвыездно здесь, пока не кончу совершенно партитуры. Очень его расцелуй. Впрочем, я ему ещё напишу.

3) Не захватишь ли с собой Лароша? Пусть хоть ненадолго приедет.

4) Все книги, присланные из Флоренции, привези, пожалуйста, с собой.

5) Попроси Нару устроить мне следующее: нельзя ли купить ''лососины'' (целую рыбу что ли или часть) и уложить её с вашим багажом. Если ты это устроишь, то будешь есть превосходную ботвинью.

Итак, жду! Будь здоров, до свиданья.

P. S. I wanted to send the letter yesterday, but it started to rain so badly that I took pity on [[Aleksey]]. I'm adding the following to this little note:

1) If you have the time, take the trouble to deliver the old theatrical scores to ''[[Nikolay Khristoforov|Nikolay Osipovich Khristoforov]]'' at the music office <ref name="note1"/>.

2) Tell [[Bob]] that, in view of my trip to [[Kamenka]], I must now deprive myself of the pleasure of seeing him in [[Petersburg]]. Prudence requires that I sit here without interruption until I completely finish the full score. Kiss him a lot. I'll still write to him anyway.

3) Couldn't you drag [[Laroche]] along with you? At least let him stay a little while.

4) Please bring all the books I sent from [[Florence]] with you.

5) Ask Nara <ref name="note2"/> to arrange the following for me: could she buy a ''salmon'' (either a whole fish or a part) and to pack it with your luggage. If you can arrange this, then you'll be having an excellent botvinia <ref name="note3"/> .
