He's made amendments too, perhaps rather too pedantically, i.e. he has been too obdurate with some of his orthographic principles, and not always to the benefit of clarity. But this is a personal matter, and in general I'm simply delighted to have him as a proofreader. Out of them all, he is the only one in which I am {{und2\|wholly and assuredly}} confident. For God's sake, send me his address, I want to write him a letter of thanks. You can't imagine how much rubbish he found and corrected. Both him and Dahlgren did well! That one is obsessed with lines and, incidentally, how grateful I am to [[Ziloti]] for doing away with all of them. I'm not sending the proofs back by registered post, for speed. However, I still found one or two errors, i.e. after [[Ziloti]] — but [[Ziloti]]'s understanding of harmony meant that he didn't see them as errors. Let him direct his attention to them oth on page 100. To distinguish them from the older notes I wrote: {{und2\|27th May}}. Из ошибок, в коих Зилоти сомневался, три (стр[аницы] 44, 48 и 20) не суть ошибки. Остальные же (стр[аницы] 16, 8, 4) суть открытые им крупные ошибки. Вообще же милейший Саша своей корректурой оказал мне громадную услугу, он нашёл целую {{und2|массу}} ужаснейших ошибок. Есть поправки его, пожалуй, уж слишком педантические, т. е. он слишком выдерживает некоторые свои орфографические принципы, и не всегда в пользу ясности. Но это дело личное, а в общем я просто в восторге от него как корректора. Это единственный из всех, которому я могу {{und2|вполне безусловно}} довериться. Ради Бога, пришли мне его адрес, я хочу ему послать благодарственное письмо. Ты не можешь себе представить, какую массу он нашёл и исправил всякой пакости. Хороши мы оба с Дальгреном! Этот помешан на своих чертах, и, между прочим, как я благодарен Зилоти, что он их всех уничтожил. Корректуру посылаю назад не заказной, для скорости. Я нашёл, однако же, одну ошибку и после Зилоти, т. е. даже две, — но Зилоти, очевидно, понял гармонию так, что не усмотрел тут ошибок. Пусть обратят внимание, обе на 100 стр[анице]. Для отличия от старых заметок я написал: {{und2|27-го мая}}.

P. S. Боже мой! Я думал, что сомнения относились только к 1-му действию! Оказалось, что во 2-ом 2 есть на стр[анице] 234 и 236! Ради Бога, исправь эти ошибки! И чего он сомневался?!!! Ужасно, если они останутся! Неужели уж поздно???

P. S. My God! I thought my misgivings related only to the 1st act! It turns out that there are 2 in the 2nd on pages 234 and 236! For God's sake correct these errors! What else is he unsure of?!!! It would be terrible if they were left! Is it indeed to late???
