	I think that you and [[Olya]] won't be uninterested to know about where and how I am. I left [[New York]] on 21/9 May, just on your nameday and birthday, and had a safe voyage for 7½ days to [[Hamburg]]. Only two days were bad, and one night in particular; for all the rest of the time the weather remained excellent. I stopped overnight in [[Hamburg]] and hurried to [[Petersburg]] via [[Berlin]]. I wanted terribly to be in my homeland as soon as possible. I've spent utterly pleasant 8 days in [[Piter]]. I'm only sorry that you weren't there. In general I was satisfied with my American tour, i.e. I'm pleased to recall my successes and the cordial reception I encountered everywhere. I am seriously considering going again, and it may well be that next year I go back to America, where this time it will be possible to earn a great deal of money. For now I've brought back very little, because I squandered too much. Today I've come here, to ''[[Maydanovo]]'', in the same house where I lived previously. From tomorrow I'm going to start working industriously. At the end of the summer I'm ''certainly visiting [[Ukolovo]]''. In 2 days' time [[Modest]], [[Bob]] and [[Aleksandr Litke\|Sanya Litke]] will be here for a little while. I've ~~neither seen nor~~ heard from [[Anatoly]]. I hug you tightly, kiss [[Olya]]'s hands and smother dear [[Georgy Tchaikovsky\|Zhorzhika]] in my arms. Keep well! Думаю, что тебе и Оле не безынтересно узнать о том, где и что я. Выехал я из Нью-Йорка 21/9 мая, как раз в твои именины и день рожденья, и плыл совершенно благополучно в течение 7½ дней до Гамбурга. Только два дня было скверных и особенно одна ночь; все остальное время погода стояла превосходная. В Гамбурге я проночевал и через Берлин поспешно поехал в Петербург. Мне страстно хотелось поскорее очутиться среди своих. В Питере пробыл 8 дней и провёл их чрезвычайно приятно. Жалею только, что вас не было. В общем, американским путешествием я остался доволен, т. е. мне приятно вспоминать о моих успехах и о радушном приёме, по всюду встреченном. Меня убедительно просят снова приехать и весьма может статься, что через год я снова побываю в Америке, где на сей раз можно будет и много денег заработать. Теперь я привёз очень немного, ибо слишком транжирил. Сегодня приехал сюда, в ''Майданово'', в тот самый дом, где жил прежде. С завтрашнего дня принимаюсь усиленно за работу. В конце лета ''непременно побываю в Уколове''. Дня через 2 здесь будут ненадолго Модест, Боб и Саня Литке. Об Анатолии ни слуху ни духу.
