Корректуру партитуры балета до стр[аницу] 457 получил и, вероятно, завтра вышлю. Боюсь, чтобы опять что-нибудь не напутали. Зачем мне прислан «''Чай''» (китайский танец сюиты)? Ведь он награвирован вновь, и я новые снимки тщательно прокорректировал. Теперь я уж желаю, чтобы ''с них и печатали'', ибо, может быть, что-нибудь я там и отметил? Пусть во второй корректуре пришлют снимок с новых досок. Что касается «''Кофе''», т. е. арабск[ого] танца, — то тоже желаю вновь награвированное.

Ты меня не понял. Я просил написать Гутману не об ''op[us] 23, а о 23 сентября''. Ведь он телеграфировал, если помнишь, что можно концерт дать 23-го, — ну, я желаю по позднее. Впрочем, все равно. Во всяком случае, я решил следующее. Всю эту неделю я ещё просижу здесь и ценою страшного напряжения надеюсь ''все'' кончить и все сдать тебе 31 августа в понедельник. Если последние снимки я получу не позже субботы, то привезу первую корректуру с них 31-го утром, а к вечеру мне могут уже доставить 2-ую корректуру. Привезу я также 31 утром:
:1) Моё облегчённое переложение балета, — оно почти готово.
:2) ''Танеевское'' переложение, тщательно просмотренное.
:3) ''Лангеровское'', тоже просмотренное.
Поправки клавира «''Иоланты''» просмотрю сегодня и вышлю завтра.

Сколько я мог понять из письма Модеста, он на днях должен быть в Москве. Вероятно, будет у тебя. Пожалуйста, выдай ему 200 р[ублей], которые я ему должен, в счёт платы за либретто «''Иоланты''»!

Заплати, пожалуйста, за белье ''Крейцеру''. Вообще, мне нужно будет разом очень много взять у тебя денег, по крайней мере рублей 800. До свиданья!

I've corrected the full score of the ballet <ref name="note1"/> up to page 457, and will probably send them tomorrow. I'm afraid that there's been some more confusion. Why did you send me ''Tea'' (the Chinese dance from the suite)? It has after all been re-engraved and the new imprint has been thoroughly corrected. Now I really wish that ''they had been in print'', because perhaps I'd notice something. Let the second proof be printed from new plates. As for "''Coffee''", i.e. the Arabian dance, then this should also be re-engraved.

You misunderstand me. I didn't ask you to write to [[Gutmann]] about ''opus 23, but about 23 September''. After all, he telegraphed, you remember, whether I could give the concert on the 23rd — well, I'd prefer it to be later. Anyway it doesn't matter. In any case, I've decided the following: I'll stay here for the whole of this week, and at a terrible cost to my nerves, hope to finish ''everything'' and pass it to you on Monday 31st. If I receive the last imprint no later than Saturday then I'll bring them with the first proofs on the 31st, and by the evening I could already deliver the second proofs. On the morning of the 31st I can also bring:
: 1) My simplified arrangement of the ballet — it's nearly ready.
