	I'm inordinately guilty before you. I've been meaning to answer both yours and [[~~Leva~~]]'s nice letters for ages now, but laziness and commotion have prevented me. The commotion was, to a significant extent, due to the fact that, besides some urgent work, I was occupied with the idea of organising that concert in [[Paris]], which you know about. Now this plan has sunk into the river of oblivion, or, at the very least, its execution has been postponed until a more favourable time. I needed 2000 rubles to realise my plan. I didn't have this money. Let's hope that next year I can undertake this trip, which will be very useful for me.		I'm inordinately guilty before you. He becomes seriously angry with her sometimes. To my great joy, ''[[Tolya]]'' spent the whole of last week with me, having come here with the express purpose of staying with me, and by the by, to hear the music of my ballet, which was finally staged. In general I've now flooded an unfortunate [[Moscow]] with the products of my muse. Not a day goes by without my works being played, and recently I even decided to take on the role of conductor. Although most ineptly, most timidly and uncertainly, I conducted my "''[[Slavonic March\|Russo-Serbian March]]''" at the Bolshoi Theatre recently, with great success. Now in general I'll be looking for opportunities to make public appearances as a conductor of my things. Непомерно виноват перед тобой. Уж давно собираюсь ответить и тебе и Леве на ваши милые письма, да лень и суета мешали. Суета происходила в значительной степени оттого, что я, кроме нескольких спешных работ, был занят мыслями об известном тебе намерении устроить концерт в Париже. Теперь план этот бухнул в реку забвения или, по крайней мере, исполнение его отложено до более благоприятного времени. Мне нужно было для реализирования моего плана 2000 р[ублей].
