Sketches for an Adagio in G major (TH 202) [1] are preserved in the Tchaikovsky State Memorial Musical Museum-Reserve at Klin [2]. It comprises two sheets with fragments of text [3].

The evidence of the notepaper and style of writing suggests that this short sketch dates from the early 1860s. The nature of the sketch is unclear, and it may have been intended for a work for strings, or possibly as a vocal piece.

The sketch has not been published.
