Москва 11 сентября 1871 г[ода] Милостивый государь!
Михаил Павлович Ник[олай] Гр[игорьевич] Рубинштейн сообщил мне, что Вы предполагаете в одном из концертов Муз[ыкального] общ[ества] исполнить мою увертюру к «Ромео и Джульетта». Позвальте Вас поблагодарить за эту любезность; я давно желал, чтобы эта сочинение была сыграна в Петербурге. Что касается до опечаток в партитуре, о которых Вы говорили, то при самом тщательном рассмотрении партитуры я нашел их немного. На странице 9-ой в партии арфы в 1-ом такте вместо сексты:  нужен аккорд  На стр[анице] 10-ой в арфе же, вместо аккорда:  в третьем такте нужен аккорд  На стр[анице] 19-ой в 3-ем такте вместо:  нужно  На стр[анице] 31-ой в последнем такте в басах и виолончелях не поставлены бекары у ноты C; нужно так:  На стр[анице] 46-ой в 1-ых скрипках в первом такте, вместо первой ноты:  нужно нота  На стр[анице] 94 в партию валторн попалась во 2-ом такте совершенно лишняя нота:  На стр[анице] 108 в первом такте не поставлено необходимое в этом случае слово unis. в партиях 1-ой и 2-ой скрипки и у альтов. Нужно так:  На стр[анице] 121-ой в первом такте у 2-го тромбона вместо первой ноты:  нужно нота  На стр[анице] 138-ой в 3-ем такте у виолончелей вместо:  нужно  На стр[анице] 141-ой в партии флейт в 3-ем такте вместо:  нужно  На стр[анице] 147 в 1-ом такте у фаготов вместо:  нужно  На стр[анице] 192 в 2-ом такте у альтов вместо:  нужно  Вот все ошибки, которые я нашел в партитуре. Moscow 11 September 1871 Dear Sir!
Mikhail Pavlovich Nikolay Grigoryevich Rubinstein informed me that you expect to peform my overture to "Romeo and Juliet" at one of the Musical Society concerts. Allow me to thank you for this courtesy; I have long hoped that this work would be played in Petersburg. As for the printing errors in the full score, about which you spoke, on a thorough examination of the score I found a few. On the 9th page in the 1st bar of the harp bar instead of the sixth: there should be the chord On the 10th page, also in the harp, instead of the chord: in the third bar, there should be On the 19th page, 3rd bar, instead of: there should be On the 31st page in the last bar the basses and cellos should not play C naturals, but rather: On the 46th page the 1st violins, 1st bar, instead of the first note: there should be the note On page 94 in the horn part there is a completely redundant note in the 2nd bar: On page 108 in the first bar the word unis. is not placed accurately in the parts for 1st and 2nd violins and the violas. It should be: On the 121st page, in the first bar the 2nd trombones instead of the first note: they should have this note On the 138th page, in the cello's 3rd bar instead of: there should be On the 141st page, in the flute part, 3rd bar, instead of: there should be On page 147 in the 1st bar of the bassoons, instead of: there should be On page 192 in the 2nd bar, where the violas have: there should be These are all the mistakes which I found in the full score.
