Lida, darling, golubushka! Do not be angry with me. It so happens that I have to do 3 days of incredibly hasty proofreading. Therefore I will be desperately slaving away all this time, not showing my face, in order to make it in time to send my new suite [1] to Petersburg, where Bülow must receive it by the start of next week without fail. And so, I will be having dinner with you next week, if you will allow it. Write that you're not angry. My God, I'm in no condition to go anywhere with this tired and sour face. I kiss your hands, and hug everyone else.
P. Tchaikovsky
