Многоуважаемый Александр Иванович!

Спасибо за милейшее письмо Ваше. Фотографию непременно пришлю, как только получу, — тогда, кстати, и напишу Вам, а сегодня поспешаю лишь поблагодарить ещё раз за дружбу и сочувствие. Письмо Ваше я получил уже здесь, через 3 дня по возвращении из Каменки.

Most respected Aleksandr Ivanovich!

Thank you for your most kind letter [1]. I shall certainly send you a photograph as soon as I have it; I shall write to you apropos of that, and today I am hastening just to thank you once more for the friendship and support. It was only three days after returning from Kamenka that I received your letter here.
