I have sent you the parts and full score of my quartet , which I ask you to forward to Kireyev (Millionnaya, No. 9). See you soon.
Anatosha! The owner of the villa turned out to be a swindler; he submitted a biill for the first week that was twice the amount we'd agreed on. I flew into a range, shouted, swore profusely — then I paid unconditionally and moved to the city. Now we're much worse off, but we've ended up in a decent hotel, not run by swindlers. Forgive me, dear fellow, for only writing you a few lines. I want to give everyone my new address as soon as possible. I don't have much luck with the weather in Naples; I always turn up when it's bad. I've already been here for a week and a half, and except for the first two days, the sky is constantly grey, the wind is blowing, and it's raining. And yet nevertheless, Naples is so good that it's pleasant enough even in bad weather. Modest and Kolya are well. I kiss you and Parasha's hand hard.

Yours
