Firstly, I am sorry to write to you so late, but the fact is that I only received your letter today (i.e. on Sunday).

Since you do not want me to discuss the details with Jurgenson, then I cannot give you definite information about which of Rubinstein's romances he is printing. I only know that I translated 12 Persian songs for him, and I remember that Jurgenson fairly recently told me of his intention to print a selection of the best of his German songs. As to precisely what has been selected and how they were chosen, I do not know.

If you will permit me to discuss this with Jurgenson, then I can give you detailed information. If you write to me thus, I will answer properly.

Thank you for sending me the 40 silver rubles, as well as the copy of "Terrible". I enclose a receipt herewith.

Until we meet.

P. Tchaikovsky

Regards to Balakirev.
