Dear friend Karl Yulyevich!

Being in extreme need of money, I have asked the Board of the Musical Artists' Support Fund, of which I am a member, to provide me with a loan of 300 rubles. Judging by the notification that I received from them, my account is no longer in debt, and since I have always paid punctually, I hope there will be no obstacle to fulfilling my request. But nevertheless, I ask you, golubchik, on my behalf to see that this is fulfilled, and moreover, the sooner the better. Forgive me for bothering you with such trifles. I embrace you. I kiss Aleksandra Arkadyevna's hands.
