Любезный друг! 1) Я сделал довольно важное изменение в скоморохах (ради значительного облегчения) на стр[анице] 4-ой и 8-ой; я думаю, что не трудно будет исправить? 2) В среду я приду к тебе за получением капиталов. Наши расчёты находятся в следующем виде: ты мне сказал, что мне следовало получить с тебя 335 р[ублей], и в том числе 100 за «Снегурочху». Я нахожу, что ввиду неблестящего успеха пиэсы мне невозможно взять с тебя столь огромную плату, и потому довольствуюсь 50. Итак, за тобой лишь 285, а не 335. Да, кроме того; я взял у тебя третьего дня 50; следовательно, остаётся 235; но я прошу тебя с моим посланным прислать ещё 25 р[ублей] сер[ебром], и, таким образом, остаётся сумма в 210 р[ублей] сер[ебром]. Gracious friend! 1) I've made quite significant changes to the tumblers' [dance] (for the sake of considerable simplification) on the 4th and 8th pages; I don't think this should be hard to correct? 2) On Wednesday I'll be coming to you for payment. Our balance may be calculated as follows: you told me that I should expect to receive from you 335 rubles, including 100 for The Snow Maiden. I find that, in view of the not-so-dazzling success of the play, it's impossible for me to accept such a large amount from you, and therefore I am content with 50. And so, that is only 285 from you, and not 335. And furthermore, I took 50 from you three days ago; therefore, that leaves 235; but I beg you to send me another 25 silver rubles with my messenger, and, consequently, the outstanding sum is 210 silver rubles. And so: my payment 210 for Shilovsky's piano 230 Total: 440 silver rubles. which I intend to collect from you on Wednesday. 3) I left my binoculars at your dacha; for God's sake, bring them at the first opportunity.
