Tolya! I'm definitely leaving on Friday morning, and nothing in the world could induce me to stay longer; it's so horrible here, and I want to dash off to Kamenka. And so if you're able to leave on Thursday then so much the better, but if not then forgive me for going by myself. Reply to me quickly and unequivocally.

The most intolerable thing is that there's so much going on that it's preventing me from doing much work. Until we meet, golubchik!

Yours, P. Tchaikovsky
