Dear Modya!

Sofya Ivanovna Jurgenson has been with Mamontova. She and her husband will categorically bear all the costs of sending the child (Zina, I think) with a chaperone (?) to Laroche. If you consider it necessary to telegraph Laroche about this, then do it as soon as possible. I'm afraid to do this because I don't know what situation Nastasya Petrovna is in, and I'm afraid of alarming her. I hug you. Sorry for not writing much — I've just written two romances and I'm very tired.

Yours P. Tchaikovsky
