- ↑ In Letter 3983 written the previous day, Tchaikovsky had asked his publisher to put a dedication to Ivan Vsevolozhsky on the title page of the piano score of his new ballet The Sleeping Beauty.
- ↑ In a letter dated 11/23 December 1889, Jurgenson had objected to the use of some of Tchaikovsky's music by the composer and director Nikolay Andreyevich Ars (1858-1902).
- ↑ The Sleeping Beauty would receive its premiere at the Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg on 3/15 January 1890.
