Nikolay Nekrasov (1821-1878)

Russian poet and translator (b. 28 November/10 December 1821 at Nemyriv; d. 27 December 1877/8 January 1878 in Saint Petersburg), born Nikolay Alekseyevich Nekrasov (Николай Алексеевич Некрасов).

Tchaikovsky's Settings of Works by Nekrasov

Tchaikovsky's Chorus for the Jubilee of Osip Petrov (1875) was set to a specially written text by Nekrasov.

Forgive! (Прости!) — No. 8 of the Twelve Romances, Op. 60 (1886) — is set to an untitled poem by Nekrasov (1856).
