Mysłowice is a city in the Silesia (Śląskie) province of Poland.

During Tchaikovsky's lifetime it was known as Myslowitz, forming part of the province of Silesia in the Kingdom of Prussia, and incorporated into the German Empire in 1871.

Tchaikovsky spent "four long hours in Myslowitz" [1] on 29 June/10 July 1873, on the way to his summer vacation in Europe.
