Duration
There is one movement: Andante (G-flat major, 263 bars), lasting approximately 6 minutes in performance.

The text is presumed to have been written by the composer himself.
Composition
Nature and Love was written in December 1870 for students of Professor Berta Valzek's singing class at the Moscow Conservatory [1].
Performances
Nature and Love seems to have been performed for the first time early in 1871 at a concert given by students of Berta Valzek, and repeated at a concert of Tchaikovsky's works in the Nobles' Club in Moscow on 16/28 March 1871 [2].
Publication
The score was published by Pyotr Jurgenson in October 1894 [3]. It was included in volume 43 of Tchaikovsky's Complete Collected Works, edited by Ivan Shishov and Nikolay Shemanin (1941).
Autograph
Tchaikovsky's autograph score has been lost.
