Pavlodar (Павлодар) is a village in the Kozelsk district (Козельский район) and Kaluga oblast (Калужская область) of the Russian Federation.

During Tchaikovsky's lifetime it was part of the administrative centre of the Kozelsk district (Козельский уезд) in the Kaluga province (Калужская губерния) of the Russian Empire.

Tchaikovsky in Pavlodar

According to his brother Modest, Tchaikovsky spent the summer of 1863 at his friend Aleksey Apukhtin's estate at Pavlodar [1].
