Podushkino (Подушкино) is a village in the in the Odintsovo district (Одинцовский район) of Moscow oblast (Московская область) in the Russian Federation.

During Tchaikovsky's lifetime it was part of the Podolsk district (Подольский уезд) and Moscow province (Московская губерния) of the Russian Empire.

Tchaikovsky in Podushkino

Tchaikovsky stayed at his brother Anatoly's dacha at Podushkino between 31 May/12 June and 1/13 September 1883, punctuated by visits to Moscow and Kuntsevo. The day after his arrival the composer began the draft of his Suite No. 2, which was dedicated to Anatoly's wife Praskovya.
