Somaky (Сьомаки) is a village in the Zhmerinka district (Жмеринський район) and Vinnytsia oblast (Вінницька область) of Ukraine.

During Tchaikovsky's lifetime it was known as Simaki (Симаки), and formed part of the Vinnitsa district (Винницкий уезд) in the Podolsk province (Подольская губерния) of the Russian Empire.

In 1879 and 1880, Tchaikovsky stayed at Nadezhda von Meck's cottage at Simaki, which was around 4 kilometres from her country house at Brailov.

8/20 August 1879 31 August/12 September 1879 Here the composer finished the orchestration of the opera The Maid of Orleans and corrected its arrangement for voices with piano, and he also composed and scored an additional Divertimento for the Suite No. 1.
8/20 July 1880 29 July/10 August 1880 During this visit Tchaikovsky worked on the Six Duets, Op. 46 and Seven Romances, Op. 47.
