  1. Mikhail Yefimovich Medvedev (b. Bernstein, 1852-1925), would premiere the role of Herman at the Moscow Bolshoi Theatre in 1891, and was engaged by the Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg for the 1892/93 season.
