(Redirected from Fürstner)
German music publisher (b. 22 March/3 April 1833 in Berlin; d. 25 May/6 June 1908 in Bad Neuheim).
After receiving training as a publisher in France, Fürstner worked as head clerk with Bote & Bock in Berlin, before founding his own publishing house in the same city in 1868. In 1879, he approached Tchaikovsky with a request to take over the rights to publish the latter's works in Germany, although these plans were ultimately forestalled by Pyotr Jurgenson. Nevertheless, Fürstner did publish a significant number of piano works, romances and other small compositions by Tchaikovsky.
