The firm of Bote & Bock published the score of Tchaikovsky's overture-fantasia ''[[Romeo and Juliet]]'' in 1871, at the instigation of [[Nikolay Rubinstein]]. Tchaikovsky was personally acquainted with Hugo Bock, and some correspondence between the two men has survived.		In 1871, Bock inherited the [[Berlin]] music publishing firm founded by his father Gustav Bock (1813–1863) and Eduard Bote.
