Вчера я тебя упрекал в непосылании мне недостающих №№ Бортн[янского], а сегодня получил некоторые из них, ''но не все ещё''; обрати на это внимание и, по возможности скорее, пришли остальное. Напиши мне, пожалуйста, которые из моих романсов наиболее в ходу; сколько мне кажется, таковых всего 4: «''Нет, только тот''», «''И больно и сладко''», «''Страшная минута''» и «''То было раннею весн[ой]''». Впрочем, не скоро я за них примусь. Ведь у меня ещё есть совершенно готовый ''opus'', т. е. ''Всенощное бдение'', которое я было начал переписывать но, принявшись за Бортнянского и не умея делать разом два дела, оставил на время.

Вот какая у меня к тебе просьба. Вероятно, «''Ромео и Юлия''» уже напечатаны Боком. Потрудись написать ему, чтобы прислал один экземпляр для меня, а другой ''Балакиреву''. Мне очень хочется, чтобы Балакирев получил эту вещь. Я посвятил ему увертюру ещё в 1870 г[оду], когда она была написана, но не знаю, почему Бок тогда не выставил его имя. Если можно, то нельзя ли это сделать поскорее.
