Grisha Sangursky is now altogether a grown man; he's very taken with hunting. The swimming here is excellent, and this is all the more pleasant for me, since living in stinking [[Kamenka]], I've been deprived of the pleasure of swimming. Прежде всего Модесту нужно выздороветь. Ему, бедному, три дня тому назад сделали операцию с хлороформом, и теперь нужно ждать, чтобы рана совершенно зажила. А потом Модесту ещё нужно получить деньги, а это случится не ранее 20-го числа, так что уедем около 25-го. Вероятно, Лёня, ты уже мне писал в Каменку: и я надеюсь завтра получить твоё письмо оттуда. Живём мы здесь, славу Богу, хорошо, и особенно теперь, после того как Моде сделали операцию, у меня на душе стало покойно. Мне нравится Гранкино, — очень привольно здесь, именно так, как я люблю; тихо, покойно.
