	Голубчик Анатоша! Прошла ещё неделя так хорошо и спокойно, что я и не заметил как время прошло. Только ты мне испортил немножно. крови сообщением, что Таня сюда едет. Но потом я сообразил, что это известие, полученное тобою из Севастополя, куда тоже оно должно было прийти не из прямого источника, — есть лишь слух, который мне был известен ещё в Петербурге. Однако ж нет сомнения, что если бы слух этот обратился в факт, то я раньше тебя узнал бы о нем. Модеста ещё нет. Он должен был ~~при ехать~~ в прошлый четверг, т. е. вчера, но я получил депешу, что что-то его задержало в Берлине. Испугавшись, что он заболел, я тотчас же телеграфировал. требуя обстоятельных сведений, и очень скоро получил ответ, что беспокоиться нечего, что он совершенно счастлив и здоров и приедет сюда послезавтра, в воскресенье.
