	I am very sorry that your affairs are going poorly and that there are no lessons, and also that you continue to be sad. By the way, do write to me if you need money now; I cannot offer you much, but I can lend you a hundred rubles with the greatest of pleasure, and you can repay it later. My work is going very slowly, and God willing I shall finish orchestrating the opera by the summer. Affairs at the Conservatory have very much upset me. Although I am far away from it, I have a kindred feeling for the whole Muscovite musical cause, which suffers when news of the discord there reaches me. It would be good if ''[[Taneyev]]'' were to become director, and it is a pity that youth serves as some sort of obstacle to that. Why do you not visit [[Anatoly]]? Be sure to call on them. 	Весьма сокрушаюсь, что дела Ваши плохо идут и уроков не прибавилось, а также что Вы продолжаете хандрить. Мне кажется, что уроки всегда долго заставляют себя ждать, но раз как нападёшь на 3–4 хороших, сейчас их навалится столько, что и времени не хватает. Ввиду сего Вам следует вооружиться терпением и ждать. Между прочим, напишите мне не нужно ли Вам сейчас денег, много Вам предложить не могу, но с величайшим удовольствием могу дать Вам взаймы рублей сто, а Вы впоследствии отдадите.
