Модест бедный ждал, ждал, чтобы Тане лучше сделалось совсем, дабы одного меня с ней не оставлять в трудное время, да так и не дождался. Я наконец уговорил его уехать; он совсем измучился от тоски по Коле своём, да ещё вдобавок заболел и уехал ещё не совсем оправившись, но я получил от него из Кельна и из Кёнисберга две телеграммы, из коих вижу, что выздоровел он вполне, благодаря слабительному, которое я заставил его принять в день отъезда.
