|Original text=Андрей Фёдорович! Голубчик, не сердитесь на меня и позвольте, ради Бога, отложить наше квартетное сборище до будущей недели. На меня свалилась ужасная работа. Бюлов хочет играть мою новую сюиту 12 в Петербурге; 5-го она должна быть готова, и я сам должен сделать корректуру не только партитуры, но и всех голосов. Это ужасная работа; вот уже 2 дни что я сижу безвыходно дома, никого не принимаю, никого не вижу. Пока не кончу этой работы, не в состоянии ничем наслаждаться, да и дорожу временем до того, что не могу отдать целого вечера из тех немногих, что мне остаётся. Напишите мне, можно ли отложить?
