Я уже ''целую неделю'' не писал ''дневника''. Этого достаточно, чтобы дать понятие о ''ненормальном'' состоянии, в коем нахожусь, и объяснить моё редкое писание тебе. Смерть Котека с одной стороны, целые дни безустанного сидения за корректурой с другой, борьба с ''приглашениями'', с третьей, — всё это делает меня неспособным беседовать письменно ни с тобой, ни даже с собой (в дневнике). Совершенно здоров. Около 10-го числа буду в Петербурге; значит очень скоро увидимся. О судьбе, «''Лизав[еты] Никол[аевны] ''» в Москве узнаю решительно сейчас после праздников. Целую, обнимаю, до свиданья, голубчик. Как много имею сказать тебе! Количку целую.
