Получил вчера твою записку. Какой гимн? зачем? кому это нужно? на кой чёрт? и т. д. Ко мне уж приставало с просьбой сочинить что-нибудь для торжественного концерта какое-то Славянское (что ли) общество. Я отказал. Теперь ты лезешь. И кто тебя просит, чухонца, заботиться о славянских первосвятителях??? А впрочем, в четверг я буду в Москве и поговорим с тобой. Спасибо, голубчик, за предложение остановиться у тебя, но на сей раз ещё не воспользуюсь, ибо обещал Анатолию у него остановиться. Желал бы увидеться с тобой в тот же вечер. Вероятно, я прямо с вокзала к тебе заеду. Пробуду в Москве пятницу, субботу, воскресенье.

Потрудись, пожалуйста, подписаться для меня на «Московские ведомости» на полгода, начиная от 1-го февраля. Сделай это, мой друг, сейчас же.
