I attended a concert of the Musical Society at the circus; I saw a lavish bishop's service in the Zion Cathedral (the exarch led the service), and I've also been twice to the Armenian Church, where there are plenty of curious and original things. I've played vint several times. I've been for masses of wonderful strolls. In short, the time passes pleasantly, but, unfortunately, it's completely unproductive, because I absolutely cannot find the time to work, although I would very much like to progress "''[[The Enchantress]]'' a little here. Amongst the musicians, the most agreeable to me are ''[[Ippolitov-Ivanov]]'' and ''Korganov'', the brother of the [[Petersburg]] vulgarian, incomparably more ~~sympathetic~~ and interesting. I very much like the circle of [[Tolya]] and [[Panya]]'s acquaintances in general. Kolya Peresleni comes to dinner every day. Был в здешних банях и с ужасом смотрел, как 2 дюжих молодца ломали кости у Коли Переслени и Толи. Посетил монастырь ''Давида'', где похоронен ~~Грибоед о в~~ и откуда чудный вид на Тифлис. Обедал в большой компании в ресторане на берегу Куры, причём местные певцы пели любопытные здешние песни и плясали настоящую лезгинку. Перезнакомился с здешними музыкантами, которые очень трогательно и мило выражают мне сочувствие своё. Был в концерте Музык[ального] общества 1 в цирке; видел архиерейское роскошное служение в Сионском соборе (служил экзарх) и 2 раза был также в армянской церкви. где бездна курьёзного и оригинального. Играл несколько раз в винт. Совершил массу чудных прогулок. Одним словом, время проходит приятно, но, к сожалению, совершенно непроизводительно, ибо решительно не нахожу времени заниматься, хотя мне очень бы хотелось здесь немножко подвинуть «''Чародейку''». Из музыкантов мне очень симпатичны ''Ипполитов-Иванов и Корганов'', брат петербургского пошляка, неизмеримо более симпатичный и интересный. Круг знакомых ~~Тали~~ и Пани мне вообще очень нравится. Коля Переслени обедает ежедневно. Дело своё он делает хорошо, но беспутен, как всегда, однако ж и приятен тоже, как всегда. День моего отъезда назначен на 26-ое. Раньше невозможно уехать; да мне и не хочется — до того приятно здесь живётся. После этого письма пиши мне ещё разик сюда, а потом уже в Неаполь ''Hôtel des Etrangers''. Целую крепко тебя и Количку. Amongst the musicians, the most agreeable to me are ''[[Ippolitov-Ivanov]]'' and ''Korganov'', the brother of the [[Petersburg]] vulgarian, incomparably more sympathetic and interesting. I very much like the circle of [[Tolya]] and [[Panya]]'s acquaintances in general. Kolya Peresleni comes to dinner every day. He does what he does well, but he's as dissolute as ever, though just as pleasant as ever. The date of my departure is set for the 26th.
