Твои советы вполне разумны, и я им последую. По-моему, так как на два её письма я уже не отвечал, то покамест достаточно ясно дал ей почувствовать, чтобы она не беспокоилась больше писанием своих цидулок. Тебя самого к ней идти не буду просить до тех пор, пока она не вздумает снова полезть в корреспонденцию. Но очень, очень благодарен за готовность защищать моё спокойствие от этой ужасной личности. Если б ты только знал, какую возмутительную белиберду она мне пишет!!!

Получил переводы Нины Валерьяновны. Передай ей, пожалуйста, мою чувствительнейшую благодарность. Переводы отличны. По-моему 25 р[ублей] слишком ничтожная плата. Мне, ей-Богу, совестно.

Брат Модест и Коля у меня. Поэтому я не могу ехать ни в Москву, ни в Остафьево, куда обещал С[офье] И[вановне] съездить. Очень бы хотелось, чтобы Губерты меня навестили. Не соберёшься ли и ты вместе с ними, напр[имер] в воскресенье?
