	I learned from [[Bessel]]'s newspaper <ref name="note1"/> that ''Dütsch'' <ref name="note2"/> wants to play my [[Symphony No. 1\|1st symphony]] at one of the Russian music concerts. I am very glad about this – but here's the thing. My symphony was published 15 years or so ago by [[Jurgenson]], and was published very badly. There were countless misprints and mistakes. A few years ago this symphony was played in [[Moscow]] and there is one copy with the mistakes corrected <ref name="note3"/>. If Dütsch really wants my [[Symphony No. 1]] (I should prefer something else), then just in case I will send him the aforementioned copy with the corrected mistakes. There are no printed parts, but there are handwritten ones from which they played in [[Moscow]]. They will have to be fetched, or else the parts will have to be written out from the copy that I send. Из Бесселевской газеты я узнал, что [в] одном из концертов русской музыки ''Дютш'' хочет играть мою 1-ую симфонию. Я очень этому рад, — но вот в чем дело. Моя симфония издана лет 15 тому назад Юргенсоном, и необычайно безобразно издана. Опечаткам, ошибкам несть числа. Несколько лет тому назад эту симфонию играл в Москве, и есть один экземпляр с исправленными ошибками. Если ''Дютш'' непременно хочет мою первую симфонию (я бы предпочёл что-нибудь другое), то на всякий случай посылаю ему вышеупомянутый экземпляр с выправленными ошибками. Голосов печатных нет, а есть писаные, по коим играли в Москве. Нужно достать ''их'', или же нужно списать голоса с присылаемого экземпляра.

Так как я не знаю адреса ''Дютша'', то посылаю симфонию к Вам и прошу Вас доставить её ''Дютшу''.

Был ли у Вас с моим рекомендательным письмом некто ''Катуар'', очень даровитый молодой человек, стремящийся учиться у Вас. Я очень рекомендую его Вам. Кроме того что он талантлив, — он вообще мне очень симпатичен.

Впрочем, я не прошу Вас отвечать письменно на этот вопрос. В скором времени я буду в Питере и повидаюсь с Вами.
