Лёня милый! Что-то ты поделываешь? Думаю, что ты теперь в Москве. Вот что, голубчик! Мне необходимо хоть одну недельку перед Петербургом отдохнуть как следует, и мне смертельно хочется пожить ДОМА. Поэтому, пожалуйста, устрой, чтобы в последних числах месяца все было готово в Майданове. Я выеду во всяком случае не позже 25-го числа, но кто знает? может быть, и раньше. ''Н[иколаю] Дм[итриевичу]'' с каждым днём становится все хуже и хуже, и что-то мне не верится, что он до конца августа дотянет. Ничего хорошего про себя не скажу; скучаю ужасно, подчас очень тяжело бывает; единственное утешение мне видеться с Легошиным, которого я все больше и больше ценю. Город отвратительный. Ездил я по делу на один день в Париж. Очень приятно было хоть немножко развлечься. Сделал я себе здесь два новых платья и купил 6 рубашек, ибо не хватало ни того ни другого.

Думаю, что ты уже пустил объявление в газетах и что уже что-нибудь и видел. Очень интересно знать! Вообще мне недостаёт известий о тебе, напиши поскорее.
