Он изъявляет полнейшую готовность хлопотать об удовлетворении Вашего желания, но просит Вас немедленно войти к нему с официальным ходатайством, т. е. с письмом, в котором Вы излагаете Ваши условия. При нашем разговоре присутствовал ''И. И. Маслов'', которого Вы, конечно, знаете. Он отвёл меня в сторону и дал хороший совет. Всё дела нужно начать с Петербурга, т. е. просить Кюстера, которого Маслов вызывается настроить в нашу пользу, при предстоящем свидании с ним. Итак, Вам нужно в одно и то же время написать и к Кавелину и к Кюстеру. Ради Бога, не откладывайте этого делав долгий ящик и, пожалуйста, держите меня ''au courant'' всего, что Вы предпримете.
