Желание Ваше исполнено, но, сознаюсь, лишь сегодня!!! Вы отлично сделали, что напомнили мне о данном Вам обещании: я становлюсь в последнее время рассеян до чудовищности. Но если я провинился перед Вами относительно времени отправки письма, то зато не пожалел самых сильных красок, чтобы характеризировать симпатичный талант Ваш, и директор Пражского театра г. Шуберт будет глупцом, если не последует моему совету пригласить Вас. Очень буду рад, если дело это устроится.<br />

Вчера меня посетил один старинный друг мой, провинциал и сообщил, что исполнение партии Татьяны в последнем представлении «''Онегина''» в Москве было великолепно.<br />

На будущей неделе ''Татьяну'' в Петербурге будет петь ''Медея Мей''. Преинтересно!<br />

Your wish has been fulfilled, but, I confess, only today!!!<ref name="note1"/> You did splendidly to remind me of the promise I made to you: lately I've become horrendously absent-minded. But if you find me at fault for the timing of my sending the letter, then I have no regrets about characterising your talents in the most colourful terms, and the director of the [[Prague]] Theatre Mr [[Šubert]] would be a fool if he did not heed my advice to invite you. I shall be very glad to put the matter to rest.<br />

Yesterday I was visited by an old friend of mine from the provinces, who told me that the performer of the role of Tatyana in the latest [[Moscow]] production of "''[[Onegin]]''" was magnificent <ref name="note2"/>.<br />

Next week, ''Medeya Mey'' will be singing ''Tatyana'' in [[Petersburg]] <ref name="note3"/>. Most interesting!<br />
