Я вчера не отвечал тебе на вопрос, когда вернусь и что собираюсь делать. Как только кончу черновую оперу, начну сейчас же полный клавираусцуг. Для этой работы, которая будет скучна, но очень легка, я хочу переехать в другой город, но не ехать домой. Домой я поеду, когда кончу клавираусцуг. Куда же именно поеду, — этого я ещё не решил. ''Палены'', от которых я теперь тем более не могу скрыться, что Назар совершенно влюблён в их служителя Карла, портят мне ''Рим''. ''Палены'' — добрые, но ужасные люди! Они приставали ко мне, чтобы я им играл «Пиковую даму»!!! Но, во всяком случае, я поеду куда-нибудь южнее и, вероятнее всего, просто в самый ''Неаполь''.

Я сегодня в страшной суете был. Получаю письмо от ''Арто'', что ''Capoul'' сочинил великолепное либретто из русской жизни (!!!) и желает, чтобы музыку написал не кто иной, как я, и что для этой цели он едет ''сюда''!!!??? Сейчас же полетела огромная телеграмма, что я оперу писать не могу, а что вечером сегодня еду в Россию. Потом пришлось длинное письмо писать ей.

Я кончил 6-ю картину и начал сочинять ''интродукцию-увертюру''. Если завтра не придёт 7-я картина, я буду очень огорчен. Ненавистно для меня прерывать именно эту черновую работу. Кажется, что VI картина вышла хорошо, и теперь я очень рад, что она есть, — без неё было бы недостаточно округлено.

Я только от тебя узнал о ''Сапельникове''. Какой он бессовестный. Я ждал телеграммы 23-го, страшно волновался и беспокоился, решил, что он осрамился! Хотя бы 2 слова написал. Свинство!
