Tu me demande ce que je compte faire? Je travaille en ce moment avec acharnement et espère pouvoir être prêt avec la partition pour piano de mon opéra à temps pour qu'il soit représenté dans la saison prochaine. Ensuite je rentre immédiatement en Russie pour l'instrumentation de l'opéra. Je passerai l'été chez moi (''Kline, Frolowskoié''). J'aurais bien voulu aller pour quelques jours à Paris ''incognito'' pour {{sic|flâner|flâner}} un peu, — mais je n'en ai ni le temps ni les moyens en ce moment. Après la représentation de mon opéra je compte passer quelques semaines à Paris ; ce sera en Novembre ou Décembre.

Ma santé va mieux maintenant, mais je ne me rétablirai entièrement que quand je serai chez moi, à la campagne avec la conscience d'une grande, tâche terminée. L'instrumentation pour moi n'est rien, — ce n'est qu'un plaisir. Mais la composition et l'arrangement pour piano m'ont bien fatigué.

Si tu croyais arranger dans cette saison un concert à orchestre avec moi, — il faut y renoncer, mon ami. Remettons cela à une époque ou je me sentirai tout à fait bien. Ces quelques mois passés tantôt à diriger des concerts, tantôt à écrire un opéra avec une vitesse vertigineuse, — m'ont bien fatigué et énervé. Dans quelques jours je pars pour la Russie. Mille salutations à M[ada]me Mackar et à M[onsieu]r Noël.

As tu vu les arrangements de mon ballet édité par {{sic|Rather|Rahter}} et faits par Kirchner?

A propos, l'affaire du ballet à l'Eden n'est pas sérieuse à ce que je vois. Mais sache dans touts les cas que le Directeur des Théâtres Impériaux M[onsieu]r Wsevologsky sera à Paris dans quelques jours. Tout dépend de lui.

L'adresse de Mr Wsevologsky doit être connue à l'Ambassade.

You ask what my plans are? At the moment I'm working ferociously and hope to have the piano score of my opera ready in time for it to be staged next season. Then I shall immediately return to Russian for the instrumentation of the opera. I shall be spending the summer at home (''[[Klin]], [[Frolovskoye]]''). I would have liked to go to [[Paris]] for a few days ''incognito'', to amble around a little, but at present I have neither the time nor the means. After the performance of my opera I intend to spend a few weeks in [[Paris]]; this will be in November or December.

My health is better now, but I shall not fully recover until I'm at home, in the country, in the knowledge that a great task has been accomplished. For me the instrumentation is nothing but a pleasure. But the composition and the arrangement for piano have made me very tired.

I you had been thinking of arranging an orchestral concert with me this season, you must think again, my friend. Let us postpone it until a time when I feel everything is right. These last few months spent partly conducting concerts and partly writing an opera with dizzying speed have left me fatigued and restive. In a few days I'm leaving for Russia. A thousand greetings to Madame Mackar and Monsieur Noël.

Have you seen the arrangements of my ballet published by [[Rahter]] and done by Kirchner?

By the way, from what I can see this business about the ballet at the Eden isn't serious. But in any case, be aware that the Director of the Imperial Theatres Mr [[Vsevolozhsky]] will be in [[Paris]] in a few days. Everything depends upon him.

The Embassy should know Mr [[Vsevolozhsky]]'s address.
